She always knew the goals and plan for the day. She consistently communicated with my husband about what to expect next and when she would be back in the room.
Nomination 1: “Michelle was my day nurse when I first came to this floor; she was very helpful and she realized I needed equipment when I went home. She went out of her way to see that I received what I needed and she was kind to me when I needed it most. Michelle deserves this award. Please consider giving it to her - oh and she gave a gentle push when I needed it. Thank you!”

Nomination 2: “I cannot say enough about the care Michelle provided for my husband during his one-week in-patient stay. From day one she was able to understand what was most important to him and what was most irritating/upsetting. She always knew the goals and plan for the day. She consistently communicated with him about what to expect next and when she would be back in the room. She always told him what meds he was receiving and waited to make sure he took them. If my husband had a question or request, Michelle texted the appropriate person while still in the room and made sure someone responded within a reasonable amount of time. When I visited, she made sure all my questions were addressed as well. Michelle is a nurse that shows great respect in caring for her patients and families. She not only had everything ready and in place at the time of discharge, but she also made sure to take time to check in as we were leaving to ensure all was well, and to wish us well! In summary, Michelle Lorek provided consistent and excellent holistic care, safe and efficient care, consistent supportive care, and genuine empathy. Lastly, she ensured and advocated for optimal communication and collaboration among all providers. I’m not sure if Michelle realizes what excellent care she provides… I hope she will after receiving this nomination and hopefully award!”
