She was calm, non-judgmental, and listened to my story.
I am 81 years old & have a severely enlarged prostate that causes me the usual problems of this condition. Surgery to correct this condition was canceled twice due to the pandemic & had to be further canceled (delayed) due to the need to have major surgeries in the past year including extensive heart surgery. This condition causes me a great deal of anxiety every time I have to have a medical test or procedure. Such was the case when I entered the Emergency Room in October, for evaluation of chest pain & very high blood pressure. I am not able to use a urinal lying down & this was a problem in the Emergency Room & in Intensive Care. I transferred to room X and nurse Stevie arrived. She was calm, non-judgmental, and listened to my story. Nurse Stevie listened to my story, was patient, and seemed to understand that for me, this was a serious problem. I greatly appreciate that she was sensitive to my anxiety & dealt with the problem at hand in a positive manner. Most people might think that my prostate issues are not that significant, however, for me, it has been a significant source of anxiety every time I have had to undergo medical testing or a medical procedure. And, I have had approximately 15 such tests & procedures in the past 3 years. Considering the manner, in which nurse Stevie dealt with my concerns, I believe that she is most definitely an asset to the Aurora Medical Center. Even after she dealt with my issues, she came back later to check on me, & the following day again stopped in to see how I was doing.
