My father P was transferred to the ICU for the second time in the evening due to his anemias and blood pressure dropping extremely low. The next morning,  my dad had his worst day and was fighting for his life. Andy was his nurse. Andy was the most helpful nurse we met. My dad had to get a unit of blood and was extremely weak. Andy encouraged my dad the entire time with positive words and was right by his side, so he didn’t feel alone or afraid. My family and I were in the room at different times trying to help my dad too, but it took the professional care of a dedicated nurse to get him through his hardest day. I will never forget what the doctors and nurses provided to save my father’s life. I am especially grateful to Andy for caring for my dad firsthand and for being by his side all day. He was truly a gift to us in providing comfort and reassurance. I hope Andy is recognized for his dedication to my father and all of the other patients he cared for during his thirty years as a nurse.
