Brendan gave me a sense of hope with his words and peace with his confidence in my care.
K is eight years old and plays the piano, B is six years old and loves to play any and all sports, N was about to turn three and is the comedian of the family and my wife C is my rock. Through the unbridled excitement and panic, these thoughts kept racing through my head as I tried to place a call to 911 with no cell service.

C and I were en route to the hospital due to an allergic reaction I was experiencing from a bee sting. My thoughts became blurry, and the feeling of doom became inevitable. It all went black. I awoke surrounded by a team of strangers in a strange place which I quickly determined was the hospital while I was having my clothing sheared off and IV tubes placed into my veins. My consciousness and ability to speak were slowly coming back which then brought bouts of nausea, a major headache, and a relief I cannot explain in words.

The thoughts of the four most important people in my life came rushing back to me and a hurricane of emotions poured over me. I tell the above selfish story to set the stage for the importance of the individual who saved my life on this date. Brendan Dillon was my nurse and the face which I will always remember. Brendan gave me a sense of hope with his words and peace with his confidence in my care. I am forever indebted to Brendan and my care team, Doctor B, PA Card, and all the others who assisted bringing me back to existence on planet Earth. For them it was another day at work, for me this changed my life forever. The world needs more people like you. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
