A few words from her nomination from a patient I had several nurses take care of me and all of them were terrific. However, Alaina was extra special. Alaina was so helpful. She always came to help with a smile. I was angry about the discharge plan and she sat with me to discuss it and never said my feelings did not matter or how I was wrong in feeling the way I did. She was understanding, and kind, and she listened to my reasons. I am a hard person to convince of anything. She was thinking of my good health and what she was telling me made good sense. She helped me make my decision. There was not one nurse in Winchester Hospital that I met who was not wonderful. However, if you are looking for someone with extraordinary compassion and who instills faith and hope in others, that person must be Alaina.
