Eric Wilson truly embodies what it means to be a "DAISY;" a small grassland plant that has flowers with a yellow disk and white rays, that has given rise to many ornamental garden varieties. Eric has "given rise" to patients, families, staff, and fellow classmates in their valley experiences.

Eric provided exceptional care to a middle-aged man awaiting an organ transplant who felt abandoned by family and friends due to his struggle with substance abuse. Not only did Eric provide what many would consider standard nursing care, but Eric provided care "beyond the bedside," a patient-centered approach addressing the individual's spiritual, emotional, and socioeconomic needs as well. Eric truly embodies true compassion and care not only for the patient and family members but for the entire interdisciplinary team, his fellow classmates, and everyone he encounters on a daily basis.
