She was equally attuned to our grief and gave us space when we needed it and attention when we needed it as well.
On Saturday, we said goodbye to my dear nephew. He was in the PICU as a result of a traumatic event. During our brief stay, we encountered so many wonderful, caring individuals but our last day there was highlighted by the care, compassion, sympathy, and heart of a nurse. I apologize for not remembering her last name so I hope you can locate who this wonderful young woman is. She was so wonderful. Her gentle touch with him did not go unnoticed. She was equally attuned to our grief and gave us space when we needed it and attention when we needed it as well. We were very lucky to have her as his nurse on his last day with us. While some might consider this just doing her job, I feel she was above and beyond that. She was an ally sent from above to guide us through the worst day of our lives. While I have also praised others in prior handwritten notes, she should also receive equal praise.
