Bri admitted an off-service patient to our unit with chorea. He was a bigger teenager and was self-conscious of his shaking and was in need of assistance often. He was unable to use the bathroom without assistance and hated to call out. Bri admitted him to the unit and immediately put him at ease. She made him feel comfortable and he called out and requested her. Every time she came in the room you could hear laughter, and she was a large bright spot in his day. The next day she was in charge, however, she took the opportunity to visit him regardless and let him know that she was there to assist, despite not being his nurse. Bri is an incredible nurse, and I am so happy to know her and have her on my staff.
