Joella is the most hardworking and dedicated nurse I have ever met. As the CRRT coordinator and manager of the Apheresis department, she has shown herself to be a leader who leads by example, advocates relentlessly for her team, and will truly do WHATEVER it takes to get the job done. She does not ask any member of her team to do something that she would not be willing to do herself. I am never surprised to see Joella wearing scrubs working at a patient's bedside at all hours of the day and night even though she has a full plate of other non-clinical responsibilities. This past year Joella developed an entire department (Apheresis) from scratch and despite her never-ending list of responsibilities she was able to be contacted 24/7 for questions that came in to provide treatments alongside the members of the apheresis team so we would feel safe and supported- even in the middle of the night- and boldly advocated for everything anyone on the team needed. There are countless examples of why Joella is beyond deserving of this award, she is a one-of-a-kind leader!
