My husband is doing immunotherapy for a second time. The last one was almost two years ago. His first treatment this time, Becca was his nurse. From the moment we met her, we loved her! She has such a positive attitude. She is passionate about what she does. She educated my husband in a way that he was able to clearly understand everything. She made him laugh and feel very comfortable. It made his longest day go by much quicker. When we got home after that very long day, my husband said that she was one terrific nurse, and he wished more were like her. My mother was there that day. She lives in Chicago and was at my house for two weeks following her fifth chemo for ovarian cancer and breast cancer. She also said that she wished she could take Becca home with her to be her nurse. I am an RN and trying to manage a sick spouse and a mother in another state. When I see someone with so much compassion and devotion, I feel it needs to be acknowledged. In this career, we frequently hear about the negatives and not enough about the good. Becca is so deserving of this award. Thank you for your time and all you do for your patients and families!
