Deanna Elardo went above and beyond the call of duty during my post-ops recovery and in providing me with excellent and magnificent care during my stay. Upon being wheeled into my room after my laminectomy surgery, Deanna introduced herself as my primary nurse and kindly and patiently went over my medical post-op protocols. She mentioned, should I need anything during her shift, “please press the call button at any time”. Deanna was also very sympathetic to my severe hearing loss which made me feel even more comfortable and understanding during my stay.

During the night, whenever she came into my room to take my mandatory vitals, Deanna always had a smile on her face, and I always felt completely at ease. In all the past years I stayed as an outpatient or overnight at a hospital, I never had an RN such as Deanna who was a true, caring, and passionate person and she is the true meaning of what an RN is all about, total devotion to her patients. Her devotion and compassion most likely helped in speeding up my recovery in Tower 9 and allowed me to be medically cleared for discharge.

I never had this kind of care until Deanna became my RN that day. LIJMC, Tower 9 is truly lucky to have Deanna as a highly qualified RN, but more importantly, she exemplifies all the characteristics of a wonderful person and true professional as an RN.
