Dana makes receiving cancer treatment BETTER. She remembers my kids' names, our hobbies, and interests, and makes me feel like a friend rather than a cancer patient.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2022 at the age of 34 years old. Dana was my nurse during all 6 of my chemo infusions and is still my nurse as I am getting immunotherapy infusions. Words cannot describe how wonderful Dana has been throughout my journey. My first chemo infusion did not exactly go as planned. My husband and I were in the cancer center from 8am-6pm that day and I truly believe we wouldn't have gotten through without Dana's compassion and skill. I had two allergic reactions to medications, extreme pain from attempting to use the ice cap, and found out I had a melanoma diagnosis during my treatment. Dana helped get my vitals stable while explaining everything thoroughly to my husband and me. She worked so hard that day to make sure I was able to receive my chemo meds while keeping me safe and comfortable.

I don't think anyone would say they look forward to their chemo infusions but I DID look forward to seeing and catching up with Dana! Plain and simple...Dana makes receiving cancer treatment BETTER. She remembers my kids' names, our hobbies, and interests, and makes me feel like a friend rather than a cancer patient. On top of all that, she is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me manage the side effects of my treatments.

Receiving a cancer diagnosis at 34 years old has changed my life. I have been tested mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My family has gone through similar struggles as they have been by my side every step of the way. Cancer patients and their families deserve to have a medical team they can trust and can help lighten their burden. Dana does just that. I am so incredibly blessed to have Dana on my team! Please, please, please recognize this amazing woman for her exemplary skills as a nurse and her compassion, empathy, and pure dedication to her patients.
