In the Fall of 2022, an individual entered Linden Oaks Hospital and before registration could take place, collapsed and was found unresponsiveness in the bathroom. A Code Blue was called. Vicki Laparry, RN responded to the code blue discovering the individual to be slow to respond and incoherent with slurred speech. Vicki was quick to engage with her, keeping her alert with conversation and offering reassurance and comfort. Vicki remained with the patient and was able to update the paramedics when they arrived. Vicki’s quick action and compassion helped the team and first responders develop an understanding of the situation, leading to her recovery
