Her caring, professionalism, and willingness to talk and listen have absolutely made this stay a much more tolerable stay.
I was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. I have spent a lot of time in the hospital. Constance is the first nurse I have had during this struggle that has truly made me feel at ease in the hospital. Her caring, professionalism, and willingness to talk and listen have absolutely made this stay a much more tolerable stay. Constance, in my mind, is what being a healthcare professional is all about. Taking the time to explain everything to me, removing doubt and stress. If there were more healthcare professionals like Constance, I believe there would be a large decrease in stress-related illnesses for inpatients. Battling the physical symptoms of an ailment is only part of the battle. Mental well-being (to me) is just as, if not more important than the medication and treatment of the illness. Removing the stress would help the body to focus on the physical aspects of the problem. Constance removed an extremely large portion of the stress. Please consider this true healthcare professional for the DAISY Award. In my opinion, there is no more deserving nurse employed here at the Lexington VA Medical Center.
