I am a veteran of having nursing care. In total, I have spent over a year in the hospital, 3 months in intensive care, 27 surgeries. In saying all that, I think I am a good judge of nurses. This nurse has an air of confidence about her that is very comforting for a patient. She is very efficient in carrying out the duties of her job. She explains everything to you with any questions you have. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will tell you that she needs to talk to the doctor or whoever is the person in the know. On top of that is her bedside manner. Great personality and is very comforting to all of us that need some comfort in our trying times in the hospital. She has several students with her recently and I just pray that all realize that they are looking at the real deal in nurses and can adopt some of her professionalism into their own careers. I could go on, but you get the point. She is a great nurse and an even better person. I would give her this award every year. She is deserving of it in so many ways. My hat is off to the Barnes family for starting this award. Nurses are the backbone of the medical profession and I too want to say thank you to all nurses!
