My dad had TAVR Surgery to replace a heart valve. Unfortunately, there was a complication and he had to have open heart surgery to repair the perforation. My folks did not allow me to come up initially because they wanted to limit contact due to COVID concerns. I discovered that my dad had a more serious surgery and was no longer up and racing around to the nurse’s station. My mother was not able to relate much information as she was already rattled. I called the hospital and spoke with John. He was informed, knowledgeable, concerned, compassionate, and understanding. Yes! He conveyed all that in our first conversation.
I spent the next few days in the CCU with my dad. I again observed John to have all those qualities not only with my dad but also with me and my mom. When the doctors did their rounds, John briefed them on my dad's condition expertly and efficiently. At all times, while being compassionate, John maintained a professional manner. I felt that John was very attentive to my dad's needs including cutting his food. My dad is home now and is doing well. Thank you.
