This nurse is an outstanding NICU nurse who provides care above and beyond! My son was fighting for his life in critical condition, yet she cared for him as if he were her own. She was the reason we were able to experience a lot of his firsts. She carefully gave him his first bath when most wouldn't dare dressed him in his first outfit. She also advocated for my first hold and captured my son's first smile. Something that I am so grateful for is when she reminded me to take pictures and videos. There are many precious memories we have only because of her! She is a stellar example of a DAISY Nurse! She has the desire to learn and is full of contagious positivity. The conversation she and I had about the high possibility of my son having life-changing surgery is one I will never forget. As shocking as it was to hear it was presented with such empathy. She got to know me and knew that I would need extra time to digest the information. It took a lot of courage because it was something she did not have to do. She builds trusting and compassionate connections with families on top of having exceptional clinical skills. There's a reason why so many NICU parents request her as their primary nurse. I have connected with other NICU families who also had her and it's no surprise they share the same sentiments "We love her". She pours her entire heart and soul into giving her tiny newborn patients and their families excellent care. There is absolutely no way that I would have been able to get through the most traumatic time in my life without having her as a support system. After spending several months with her I knew she would always be part of our family.
