I have had the pleasure to have Roy two times now. I had my gallbladder out last year and recently just had a colonoscopy. Roy provides excellent care and Jacksonville Memorial is lucky to have him as a member of their team. Roy displays kindness and joy and has an incredible bedside manner. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable before both procedures. He explains paperwork in a thorough manner and answered all of my questions. He had patience with me after surgery when I was coming off anesthesia. He listens and displays empathy and compassion. Roy is an exceptional nurse and is one of Jacksonville Memorial's greatest assets. Roy is a great example of what every nurse should strive to be. I hope to have Roy for future procedures. It is an honor to have him care for me twice.

I have had so many bad experiences, I have almost died twice while under and it's really scary for me. So much that you have no idea. It is nice to know someone listens to your story and they need to be there to just talk so you are not so afraid. It was easy for me before because I had a sister who would always go with me and talk to me so I'm not so afraid but she's gone now and I have no one to be there for me when I have surgery or a procedure. So it is wonderful to know nurses can make you feel comfortable. It is so hard to choose just one. The staff in the surgery room were so nice. Just let them know I think they all deserve the award.
