Georgia spent the next 45 min with me doing many various exercises, stretches, and massages to help me reach 10cm.
This was my first baby and I was already over my due date by almost a week. After induction, my labor stalled. Doubt and concern started to fill me as my doctor mentioned if I didn’t finish dilating and effacing by 3 pm, there was a chance I would need a c-section. The main thing I didn’t want for my birth story was for it to end in a c-section as I knew the recovery could be difficult. At 2:15 pm, I hit my call light so I could have help changing positions. Georgia walks into the room (she was not my assigned nurse that day) but I expressed to her I didn’t want to have a c-section. She checked my cervix and I made a little more progress to 9cm.

Georgia spent the next 45 min with me doing many various exercises, stretches, and massages to help me reach 10cm. She took her time with each exercise and never stopped those last 45 mins. As an RN myself, I know how extremely busy we are and the fact she was able to spare 45 min with me meant everything. At 3 pm, I had met the goal and was 10cm dilated. She gave me a hug as we were so happy. I believe God brought her into my room to help me as I prayed for an intervention to avoid a c-section. I will never forget what she did for me. I was able to have a vaginal delivery like I wanted. Georgia went more than above and beyond and my husband and I will be forever grateful!
