She brought me coloring pages, books, and colored pencils to keep me from being bored and depressed. She would have conversations with me like we were best friends, and gave me advice to help me through my depression.
She made my sister feel like she was at home. She is a very kind and loving person. She treated my sister like she was a person. She brought her pages to color and pencils to keep her from being depressed. She took time to listen when my sister was crying and upset. She was very nice to me when I came out there and answered any questions that I had. She treated me so well when others were not so good to my sister. She is truly a treasure to the nursing field and to all those around her.

She gave excellent care to my sister-in-law. My wife works so much and could not be there like she wanted to be. It brought us all some peace of mind just to know she had such a good nurse taking care of her. She has such a nice personality and is so caring when she came into the room. You could tell she was not faking it. She actually listened to how my sister-in-law was feeling and didn’t just dismiss it like she had other places to be and things to do.

I really appreciate this young lady when I came to see my daughter here, the room was clean, and she was smiling, clean, and not crying. She gives her medicine to her when due and she has got a lot better and a lot happier. She needed compassion. That is what this young lady gave her here. It gives me back hope that she went above and beyond and has a calling for this line of work.

We had a hospice patient on 2E who declined rapidly and his wish to go home on hospice could not happen. Once the patient was changed to inpatient hospice, his one wish was to listen to Metallica. Amanda Case was his nurse during this time. She had a portable Bluetooth speaker in her car, which she went and retrieved. She then played Metallica over the speaker at his bedside. Amanda goes above and beyond frequently with all of her patients, but this act of kindness especially tugged at my heartstrings, as she honored this military veteran’s dying wish.

I didn’t start feeling better until she got here. She is the best.

Amanda made me feel like I had a new sister and/or best friend. She went out of the way to make sure I felt like I was at home, really cared for, and loved. She brought me coloring pages, books, and colored pencils to keep me from being bored and depressed. She would have conversations with me like we were best friends, and gave me advice to help me through my depression. I would love to take her with me to do my care at this other facility. She always had a smile on her face and would always raise my spirits when she came and did her rounds. When putting in my IV, she sat and peacefully talked me through it. She didn’t give up and call in someone else to come in and poke me and quit. She got it in and it didn’t hurt me one bit. She always made sure I had everything I needed and was the only one who offered to change my bedding. She found me clothes to make me more comfortable. She always made sure my meds were working well for me and that I had everything to make me feel warm, safe, and like I was at home instead of in a hospital. Also, she is the only nurse I even know and remember her name. If anyone deserves a DAISY Award, it’s definitely her. I wish all nurses were just like her. I am going to miss her. And I will be back to bring her more pictures that I color that she gave me. I really wish I could take her with me. I don’t want to leave and go to another facility without her. She is now my friend for life and you all should really get more nurses just like her. Thank you Amanda for everything. And I actually cried when I had to tell her bye.
