Nurse Anita has been at this job for much longer than I have been here. She is always picking up the slack and going the extra mile. In the recent floods that ravaged Eastern Kentucky she was at work while her home was completely lost to the flood and back at work the night after. The only clothes she had left were the ones on her back. Yet just a few weeks later, we are here in the department and have a patient who has not eaten in some time prior to coming in for psychiatric evaluation. Often these patients haven't eaten in days however the patient arrives just after we could get a patient tray. Not hesitating she goes and buys a little bit of everything she can get ahold of on her own dime to make sure this young lady has something to eat to hold her through the night. This is just one more example that makes working with her such an honor.
