We recently had an incident on our unit where a patient fell ill while ambulating in the hall with her two small children. While we gathered this young woman together to get her stable and take her to the ER, Sabrina acted swiftly and ensured that her two small boys were ok and safe. Sabrina kept them calm and was even able to gather information about their Mom to aid in taking care of her. The boys took to Sabrina immediately and were even smiling and thanking her for helping “their Mommy.” Sabrina even kept the boys calm as we escorted their mom to the ER for evaluation and even took them on a mini “field trip” in the ER as they looked for the restroom. Sabrina’s compassion helped to put their mother at ease as she was going through her medical crisis. Sabrina is a prime example of compassion when it comes to the MH standard!
