In November my father was in ICU for several days before he passed away. All the nurses were great but I felt like Jasie went above and beyond. She pulled up a chair and sat down with me at the beginning of her shift. She conversed with me about getting to know personal things about myself and my dad and really made me feel like she cared. She also did extra things throughout her shift (that no other nurse had done for him) such as turning him and doing oral care for him. She did not ever seem like she was in a hurry (although since I am also a nurse I know she had other patients and things to do). She made sure our family sitting with dad had water and snacks and gave us space when we needed it. However, after he passed she gave me a few minutes with him and then she came in and put her arm around me and just stood silently by me while I cried. She truly is amazing and I am grateful that she was there that day.
