I can truly say Nurse Monica has a heart that seeks after sick people.

My 66-year-old husband was admitted in Touro for 11 days. When nurse Monica first introduced herself, she was very professional and very thorough. She was confident that she would help my husband get better. She was not just his nurse; she was an educator as well. She explained everything that she was doing with my husband as well as administering his medications. She started treating us like family instead of a patient. She worked the night shift. The first 2 nights I slept at the hospital with my husband, I slept in a chair. It was very uncomfortable for me because I have 3 herniated discs in my back, she immediately called housekeeping to get an additional bed in my husband's room to make sure I could get a good night's rest.

Every morning before her shift ended, Monica made sure she bathe my husband and she never asked for a tech's assistance. I have been in the medical field 25 years until I became disabled. Some nurses are in the field because it's good money. I can truly say Nurse Monica has a heart that seeks after sick people. She showed us so much compassion. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you placed an angel in my husband's care. I believe if God created more nurses like Monica, a lot of sick people would live longer. A lot of people come to a hospital with no hope of making it out. She not only gave my husband hope, she gave him assurance. The care Nurse Monica gave us we will never forget.
