Susan always looks out for the best interest of her patients. One incident stands out in my mind. Susan went to see a patient who had extensive burns. She was watching the wound care and immediately escalated pain, and lack of vascular access for the patient. Susan called PM&R and the Burn team to advocate for the patient's pain during wound care, and best IV practice. She also advocated for a PICC line for labs, and IV pain medications. She could have easily placed an IV/obtain labs and left, but not Susan. She was adamant about patient-centered care and advocated for the best practice for the patient's needs. She poured her heart out for this patient and was able to truly make his care the best it could be!
