April is a tremendous nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients. I have attached the patient's story. She asked to be put on the phone with me as well to underline how much April has impacted her life. The patient had been receiving the same care for years and her legs had remained as she described "tree trunks" for years. However, April, through her considerable knowledge and experience, knew what to do for her patient's legs and she didn't accept the situation the patient was in. She worked with her and as she said, she touched her legs and reduced the water weight considerably, and really improved the quality of the patient's life.

April is kind, caring, and a resource of information for fellow RNs. April's patient noted: "I go to dialysis 3 times a week. We have been very lucky to have April around; she is a very pleasant person and a very knowledgeable nurse. She has kinda taken me under her wing. When she started working with me, my legs were described as tree trunks. Very big, round, and hard as a rock. Now they are soft and you can squeeze them and they have gone down a lot. This is due to her encouragement and challenging me. And of course lots of hard work on my part."
