Lauren took such great care of my loved one as well as myself and our family during our time here. She was an excellent nurse. Her passion for her career and her patients is noticeable and inspiring. She knew exactly what she was doing and did it well. She was also incredibly helpful to other staff and was always willing and able to help. She made people feel at ease by talking to them and making great conversation.

Lauren is the driving force of the PCU when she is on shift. I am grateful to her for advocating for me when it came to informing me about decisions that needed to be made for my recovery and to manage my pain. She was so easy to talk to, and get along with, and made everyone feel so comfortable. She took care of everyone around her, patients, family, and staff, and models what a great nurse should aspire to be.

Ms. Lauren Meadows is one of the few nurses that took on the challenge of transitioning from pediatric to critical care nursing after the pandemic, and we are all grateful that she did. As you can see, she accepted the challenge and evolved into an exceptional critical care nurse who gives 120% of herself to her patients no matter how challenging the work is physically, mentally, or emotionally, at one of the busiest PCU units at LAC+USC MC. Lauren is a team player and leader. Having her as the team leader for the day ensures that it will be a great day with a few bumps on the road but definitely a controlled chaos. She is constantly assisting her team with patient care, troubleshooting any issues or concerns, and phoning the primary team for explanations on their millions of orders since her team knows she can handle it and has their back. She is one of the most patient nurses we have seen, and she has the capacity to make patients and families feel better about their situation the moment she enters the patient’s room. We value her professionalism, compassion, knowledge, and ability to interact with patients and families. It is a great honor for 8B PCU to have another DAISY Honoree.
