Paige is a phenomenal nurse. I have had the honor of precepting her for both her step-down and ICU orientations. Through many tough assignments, Paige has been a caring, thoughtful, and respectful nurse. During our most difficult shifts, Paige provided excellent care in her first end-of-life assignment. While a tough case for everyone involved, Paige took charge of the assignment. She not only provided the best possible care to our patient, but she provided outstanding care to the family all while keeping up with the ever-changing status of our patient. She made sure to ask the family about the patient: the patient's favorite music (which she made sure was always playing in the room), the patient's favorite colors, likes, and dislikes. Paige also ensured the family had everything they needed - from meal vouchers to pillows, to hugs. I am blown away by Paige's empathy, especially in a situation that even affected our staff members. As a nurse with only 6 months of experience, her ability to provide both excellent care to her patient as well as their family blew me away. Any family is lucky to have Paige as their bedside nurse.
