Philip came in with a smile, got down to her level, and talked with her. I was speechless as he got her to calm down by talking to her.
I would like to recognize Philip Nedlik’s outstanding service in providing exemplary care to us as a family. Philip has always provided our family with compassionate care. He truly listens to, and addresses, our concerns. He is a Nurse Practitioner whom we trust explicitly.
For example, just recently, my two-year-old daughter is terrified of any medical situation due to a bad experience with a blood draw when she was one year old in another lab. We brought her in for a recent well-child visit and from the moment we walked through the door, she was screaming, crying, and yelling to go back to the car. I think the entire office could hear her screaming in fear.
Philip came in with a smile, got down to her level, and talked with her. I was speechless as he got her to calm down by talking to her. He was able to perform his checks, including looking at her throat and her ears. The genuine finesse and calm attitude he had truly were exemplary.
As a family, we would follow him as a nurse practitioner wherever he would go, although we truly hope he stays at UHS Newark Valley. We have never had a Nurse Practitioner who is so compassionate, who respected our needs and desires as parents, who worked with his co-workers as a team, and whom we trusted implicitly. This is especially important now as we have young children.
Nurses like him are extremely rare and are truly valuable assets to UHS.
