She has single-handedly contributed to the health and wellness of tens of thousands of community members. She is always prepared (and usually early) sharp as a tack and sets the example of compassion for all of the nurses at MCSA.
Gladys has been working for the Medical Center for over 50 years as a floor nurse Labor and Delivery nurse and House Supervisor.  She is in her 80s with a great mind and is in great shape.  She amazes me with her energy and the ability to work a full-time job without calling in due to sickness or life problems.  If anyone deserves the DAISY Award it should be given to this woman of honor.

Ms. Gladys Davis started with this hospital as a candy striper at the age of 14 years old. Ms. Gladys got her nursing license in her 30s.  Throughout the years has worked her way up to house supervisor. Gladys has been working here at MCSA for 68 years. She is 82 years old and still runs circles around young new nurses. Ms. Gladys has dedicated her life to taking care of patients along with her work family. Ms. Gladys always has red lipstick on with a smile and greets everyone on arrival. Ms. Gladys has seen it all from Warner Brown (the very first hospital name and location) to Union Medical (moved to another location) to it being bought out by CHS into Medical Center of South Arkansas. I could not tell you how many administrators and directors she has seen that have come and gone from this facility. Through the good and the bad, Ms. Gladys has always stood by this facility and remained faithful to her career, coworkers, administrators, colleagues, and many more. No matter what is asked of Ms. Gladys such as getting a sandwich tray to placing an IV she is always there available and ready. Ms. Gladys never calls into work and works 5 straight 12-hour night shifts and more when needed with no hesitation. Ms. Gladys is known as the vein finder. She is always cheerful and bubbly. Ms. Gladys is never sitting, always on the go doing something for someone. Ms. Gladys is a one of a kind gem and I am blessed to know and get to work with her. She really inspires me and other nurses. The world and society do not see this type of work ethic and dedication anymore. Last week Ms. Gladys's brother passed away. She did not want to call in absent; however, as her coworkers, we care about her and we made her take off that night. We encouraged her to take bereavement days which she is entitled to and PTO. Ms. Gladys being herself only took that one night off. She is truly dedicated to her hospital. There is no way Ms. Gladys could ever be thanked enough for her service. However; I believe she has deserving of this award and it would be an honor for her to receive it. Ms. Gladys would truly be heart filled and thankful if she received this award. I wish I had all the right words and was able to put how much she is really appreciated and dedicated for her service; but words would never be enough to fulfill 68 years of a true Florence Nightingale.

Ms. Gladys has dedicated her life to taking care of this community.  She works as diligently now as she did 40 years ago.  She continues to make sure patients are satisfied and that the nursing staffing is consistent.  She works nights and often takes on the role of many.  She gets food for those who get hungry through the night. And when meds are needed that are not available on nursing units she seeks out and finds them for the continuity of care of our patients.   Ms. Gladys has worn many hats over the years being a nurse for over 50 years and she has as much enthusiasm as a new nurse. She is awesome.

Ms. Gladys had been the night shift supervisor for as long as I can remember. She is professional and she is an asset to our hospital

Gladys has spent her entire life taking care of the community at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She first started at 14 years old as a Candy Striper. She has worked in every possible capacity from bedside to leadership and now at 82 years old after 58 years of continuous service, she is a Full-Time Night Shift House Supervisor. She personally contributed to the training/orientation of nearly every Nursing Director in the facility over the last 30+ years. She has never left the facility or sought employment in another capacity. She has single-handedly contributed to the health and wellness of tens of thousands of community members. She is always prepared (and usually early) sharp as a tack and sets the example of compassion for all of the nurses at MCSA. She worked continuously through COVID. She comes to work with a smile to take care of her family. She is active in the community active in her family (raising a great-granddaughter) and MCSA would not be where it is without her help through the last 58 years. The health of the El Dorado community is Gladys's lifetime achievement. Please consider her for this incredible honor.

Mrs. Davis has endured many changes over the years and has done so with an open mind and perseverance. I do not know another person that deserves to be recognized more than her for the years of dedication she has put into this facility. It is unheard of to know anyone else who has worked 12 hour shifts on nights for as many years as she has. She truly cares for everyone and I have never been in her presence without her asking everyone around how they are doing. She held my hand and prayed for me when I lost my grandfather after witnessing his code while at work one night and I would like for her to know her presence means more than she will ever comprehend.
