My son has been a patient in the hematology clinic for 3 years now and Cassidy has been our phone nurse through our whole journey. I could not have asked for a better and more compassionate nurse than her! I have had days where we have received news that has made me cry for days, I have cried on the phone with her, I have shared moments of laughter with her and joy! She has been the most selfless, loving, and kindest human being! She has fought for my son to receive the testing and treatment that he needed, spoken with the doctor when I didn't know where to turn or what to do next. She will never understand the impact she has made on not only my life, but for my son who is the strongest fighter I know! Cassidy deserves all of the recognition in the world!

Cassidy is the phone triage nurse in the HemOnc department, she manages parent's questions, concerns, providers request, PA's, covers clinic and IFR, back up for the nurse navigator, and so much more. She does this with incredible zeal, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to the patients and families. She is compassionate, responsive, and actively listens to the families, as well as provides seamless communication between the patient/family and providers. Cassidy is extremely through, ensuring questions are answered or PA's obtained in a timely manner, and takes initiative, no task too big or too small.
One great example is a patient who needed home oxygen. Cassidy called the family to check on patient and ensure the family received the oxygen, which was scheduled to be delivered over the weekend. When she found out it wasn't delivered she immediately reached out to the company. They company said they couldn't deliver it due to not meeting the insurance criteria for O2 sat. Cassidy drafted a letter of medical necessity for the company to provide to the insurance company. In the mean time reached out to other companies until one was willing and able to deliver the oxygen. She followed up the next day to make sure everything was in place for the patient. Having oxygen at home is a huge relieve to the family and will provide comfort to the patient as they progress in their disease. Cassidy is kind and acts with compassion. Extremely grateful to have her part of the HemOnc team.
