I have known Tammy for many years but have only worked closely with her in the last 5 years. She embodies all that a patient would want and need in a recovery room nurse. She is consistently vigilant and compassionate to her patients' needs. Most importantly, Tammy possesses confidence in her knowledge and skills, so that, when her patient needs advocacy for treatment, she is not at all intimidated, if she meets a roadblock.

Last week, her patient was showing clinical signs of post-operative bleeding. Tammy went quickly up the chain of command to ensure that the surgeon was made aware and able to take the patient back into the OR. His successful outcome was a direct result of Tammy's actions and care. I applaud Tammy's sterling example of what nursing is truly all about!
