The unit had a homeless person who was being discharged with nowhere to go. The next day the person was planning to contact a local church for assistance. All the shelters in the city were full. The night was cold and very rainy. The chaplaincy was contacted for assistance to no avail. Brooke and another nurse paid for a night in a hotel for this patient, each contributing $50.00. I feel this action by these nurses makes them DAISY nurses.
