Stephanie cried with me, and stayed late to help comfort the family.

I had one of the most difficult days in my nursing career yesterday. Both of my patients were extremely challenging and at times unstable. One patient was a man in his 20's who was extremely sick with multi system organ failure. The whole day was fire after fire. I could not catch up.

I was podded with Stephanie, and I could not have asked for a better partner that day. Not only did she continuously ask me what I needed, but took it upon herself to give my scheduled meds, chart vital signs, clean up patients, check blood sugars, fill out many consent forms, and much more. My young patient coded and passed during shift change. I was exhausted mentally and emotionally. She cried with me, and stayed late to help comfort the family. She went way above and beyond all day for me, and I could not have made it through the day without her. I am so blessed to know her.
