She has been very creative when looking at staffing issues globally, has anticipated obstacles, and made plans to be successful.
Kayla joined the Women's Health Clinic in June 2021 as the Clinical Coordinator and has led the team through multiple transitions including EPIC implements, the Joint Commission survey, and the physical relocation of the clinic to the Ambulatory Outpatient Pavilion in December. With each transition, she led the team with strength, confidence, and a positive spirit.

She communicates effectively with the team. She addresses hard issues; she often takes the problem to the team gets their insight and then comes up with a collaborative plan. She holds team members accountable; this is uncomfortable for all of us at times. Kayla does it with Grace and she's effective all the while being the youngest member of the team.

As a long-time RN in this clinic (20+ years), I can say that Kayla has provided much-needed stability and brought positive energy to the environment. Kayla utilized her orientation very effectively and gained a strong understanding of opportunities for improvement in the clinic. She has recruited and hired new team members at all levels. She has been very creative when looking at staffing issues globally, has anticipated obstacles, and made plans to be successful. She communicates very effectively with the team and has mastered all clinical roles, earning respect.

I am most appreciative that Kayla consistently responds with positivity and true support. I know how short-staffed we are and how busy our clinics are. To know we can still encounter a smile and "how can I help" personality is truly refreshing. This is more impressive as we are separate clinics -truly a reflection of pure support, star service, and teamwork.

Other letters of support for Kayla pointed out her ability to increase team member engagement, reduce turnover and improve the overall patient experience. Kayla's dedication to the patients, her team, and the entire organization are just some of the attributes that make her a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
