I was honored to meet Christy twice. The first time was after surgery, and she took care of me during my stay. Christy not only made me feel welcomed, but she also kept me mentally up-beat. I am not from the area, and she made sure I felt welcome and honored my veteran status. Unfortunately, I had to return to the ICU a week later. Christy was very upset I had to come back. She went above and beyond to make me feel O.K. I came back to the hospital with the clothes on my back. Christy made a trip to the store to get me things, such as a phone charger, socks, shoes, and other necessities I needed. She also made sure I was recognized on my birthday. Christy wears her heart on her sleeve, she truly cares for the well-being of each patient. Christy talked with my kids and had a connection with one of my daughters with soccer. Having a bond with your nurse is far more helpful than some of the medical needs. Christy has gone above and beyond her call of duty. Not once did I ever feel she was not there for me. I had not been able to shower for almost a week due to being here. Christy was able to arrange a shower for me. Being a woman and not being able to shower for some time is horrific! This shower made me feel like a million dollars. Christy has demonstrated to me and her colleagues that she is an extraordinary nurse and should get a DAISY Award. Thank You, USAF VET
