Nicole is a Registered Nurse and a part of our Pediatric Emergency Dept Family. She has been employed at JFK University Medical Center since September 2009. During that time she has been a constant advocate for patients, both as a member of the Pediatric Emergency Department team and as a nurse in the Inpatient Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. I received a heartfelt letter from the parent of a 15-year-old patient who arrived in our department in critical condition. The patient's mother who wrote the letter happened to be an ER nurse herself. Nicole was the primary nurse for this patient. The mother was beyond grateful for the care that this patient received.

Although pediatric nursing can be stressful, it is not every day that we can say that we absolutely saved a life. This was the case that morning. Nicole and the rest of the team not only displayed superior clinical performance, but by the account of the patient's mother, they also excelled on a human level. Nicole always takes excellent care of her patients. This is but one example of the type of care provided at JFK University Medical Center.
