Our son was in the care of Molly for the final three days of his life. I still think of her often. Molly took loving care of my son the entire time. She took care of me and my family in the same way. Words cannot describe how she did what she did, but we all felt “it”. It’s clear she was born to work in healthcare. She has a sense – chaplains would show up at just the right time. She was physically present in the room or in the hallway at just the right time. The doctors caring for my son showed respect for Molly and she for them as they communicated together about the next steps. After my son passed, Molly came to each of us. She offered a printed copy of my son’s last heartbeat tucked in a vial. I will treasure the love and care my son had at Avera McKennan with Molly Hohn until he took his last breath.
