I was a patient in the ICU last June and Drew was one of the many outstanding nurses who cared for me during my 10-day stay for a COVID-related illness when I spent 6 of those days on a ventilator. While all the nurses were caring and compassionate, Drew stood above by being able to best relate with me on a human level to my circumstance and make me feel confident I would get better soon. Drew was also the person who removed my catheter and he did it with such skill and speed and with no pain. He explained to me the importance of removing it early and helped me adjust to using a urine bottle. While I could go on about how wonderful both he and all the ER, floor, and ICU nurses were during my stay I will simply say I owe my life to the skill and knowledge of those nurses and doctors in the ER and ICU who were all caring and compassionate and choosing one is difficult because they all were so good but I want to make sure to recognize Drew who was an important reason I recovered so quickly.
