Chelsey was hired as Administrative Supervisor early in 2022. In her short time here, she has cross-trained in the Emergency Department, Tele-neurology Nurse, and as Radiology Nurse. She is also currently training in the Infusion Center. Chelsey is very knowledgeable and skilled and thus excels in each of these areas. She is often recognized by various departments for her commitment to the team and patients.
Recently, she was recognized by the Telemetry Unit for her assistance with patient flow during an extremely busy day with high census resulting in ED holds. She is a servant leader and is always willing to go above and beyond her supervisor duties to assist staff and promote patient satisfaction. On this day, Chelsey noticed the stress of the Telemetry nurses as they tried to decompress the Emergency Department in discharging and admitting patients. Chelsey jumped in to assist them with discharges, transporting patients, and various other tasks. During this same shift, the Emergency Department Clinical Supervisor also recognized her teamwork, efficiency in patient flow and ability to visualize the barriers throughout the hospital, thinking outside the box for solutions.
"I was doing charge in the ED this past Monday and Chelsey was House Supervisor. We had multiple admission holds, psych placement holds, and a full lobby. Chelsey was able to send us a Tele Nurse to help with hold patients and held transfer holds patients when movement became available. Chelsey does such an amazing job with movement in the hospital. She is quick to think outside the box and move people around to get movement in the ED.
Also with Chelsey, she follows through. She is not above going to the different departments and helping with movement and addressing unit needs. I know if there is something Chelsey can't do, it is not from lack of trying. She will always try everything to do what is best for patients and department flow. I love when she is the house supervisor! She does such an amazing job; we are so lucky to have her! I wish I could clone her!"
Chelsey is also involved in hospital-wide Shared Governance and a Patient Flow Workgroup. In these forums, Chelsey uses her experiences from her many roles to help facilitate the discussion from various perspectives and offer solutions that benefits Atrium Lincoln and the patients we serve. I am blessed to have Chelsey on our team.
