I brought my mom into the ER with severe back pain. Mom is 86 years old and has Alzheimer's. She struggles with sundowning in the evening and with Alzheimer's, changing their environment makes them very disoriented. When the ER doctor said he planned to admit Mom so she could have a procedure in the morning to fix her vertebra compression fractures, I shared my concerns with Karin. She went above and beyond, calling a Radiology Staff Member and conferred about options.

She truly understood my concerns with Mom's secondary diagnosis and didn't just focus on her back pain. Thanks to Karin, Mom was able to go home and sleep in her own bed on Friday night. She's scheduled for her procedure on Monday.

As an RN myself, I truly appreciate someone who treats the WHOLE patient and the family. She is a true asset to your organization.
