My uncle was transferred to 4T and Summer was assigned to care for him. Summer was a ray of light in a time of darkness. Summer showed compassion for my uncle as well as for our family. She was knowledgeable in her nursing skills. As a member of the care team for my uncle, she displayed great leadership and organizational skills. For example, when I mentioned playing music for my uncle while he was intubated, she promptly turned on the Care Channel which plays soothing music. And after my uncle was extubated, she closed the curtains to give us privacy during those last minutes. She explained things throughout the process which put us at ease as we anticipated the inevitable. Summer Gibbs, RN is a shining example of the values of South Georgia Medical Center.
