Nurse Judy does not view what I am dealing with in trying to care for my mother with all my heart and soul as another caseload. She makes me feel as if I am not alone but has the support of the whole hospital. She explains procedures step by step in a way that novices such as me can understand. She is very patient, and she listens to my questions and concerns. She always calms me down mentally just by being nice and patient. Her ability to empathize is breathtaking. She genuinely wants the best for my mother's well-being. Please know that Nurse Judy is the epitome of the mission tenets of St. Elizabeth hospital by providing outstanding healthcare to all patients regardless of social status, race, or creed. I read the mission statement of the hospital about the spiritual setting and atmosphere the hospital possesses and find Nurse Judy represents the hospital's mission values by being honest with me in all she shares and is highly ethical holding true to the mission of St Elizabeth. Florence Nightingale would be proud of Nurse Judy.

Judy is a fierce advocate for her patients with heart failure, educating them and their families for hours at a time to ensure they are understanding of their disease process and how to manage it appropriately. Her patients oftentimes are repeat customers being recurrent admissions when their symptoms are exacerbated. She takes even more time for these patients to find out what went wrong and how to help them manage their symptoms better. She is dedicated to ensuring that patients and families have an adequate understanding to appreciate the consequences of their decisions and actions. She goes above and beyond, not only educating her patients and families but also our staff helping with any other tasks that come her way. She may be helping a nurse reposition a patient, answering a call light, and even the phone when units are busy. When surveyors come to our facility, Judy gladly takes on those duties with ease, assisting where needed with her co-workers to aid in a smooth process. Oftentimes staying for hours after her normal work day. She has a positive attitude, takes pride in her work ethic, willingly takes on new tasks, and is a role model for all who come in contact with her.
