Congratulations to Melody Golaszewski on being named our November 2022 Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre DAISY Award Honoree! Melody was nominated by a patient’s family who was truly overwhelmed by the compassion and kindness that she brought to their bedside during such a difficult time. No one plans to go to the emergency room, but it's nice to know there are wonderful nurses like Melody to care for them.

Melody stated, “The decision to choose Geisinger was always easy because Geisinger continuously seeks out and takes pride in the medical advancements that they can provide to the surrounding communities should they choose to seek treatment. I also feel that it is important to work for a hospital that is always offering an array of educational opportunities as well as workplace advancements to their staff.” She also noted her commitment to her department and team, “The best thing about working at GSWB ED is the unity of the department and overall willingness to help each other-this includes providers, UDC, techs along with management. I have never worked with such a fantastic variety of people who show up to work each day with the intent of not only doing their job to the best of their ability. Everyone including myself will take a few moments to make sure co-works are balanced. We are a team; we work together as one to create a positive working environment so that patients receive the best care."
