April McCurry has been a blessing to the role of Assistant Nurse Manager. As she has been transitioning into this role, she has been extremely proactive on the unit. Anytime a bed alarm goes off, April is there. When we have issues with any Veteran, she is present. April is always offering help and checking in with each staff member on the unit to ensure they feel supported and heard. April is an incredible nurse I have looked up to since I have worked on this unit. I couldn’t ask for a better nurse leader to have on our unit. I have been able to be open with her about anything and everything personal or work-related, and she helps to seek out solutions where she can. April is the best example of a professional nurse leader and deserves to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to the Veterans and the nursing staff on our unit.
