Larry was part of the MET Code team that arrived in our area. He stepped into a very difficult situation and provided stability and calmness during a crisis. He was empathetic and treated the patient with dignity and respect. He created an atmosphere of trust and was able to get the patient to focus so assessment questions could be answered. He focused on the patient's safety, physically and emotionally. He exercised exceptional professional and clinical judgment. He cared about what the outcome would be and his patient could see this.

Integrity: RN created trust by doing exactly what he told his patient he would do.

Commitment: RN demonstrated his commitment to his patient by diligently working with him to obtain the care he needed and deserved.

Advocacy: RN was indeed an advocate for his patient, he supported him throughout this situation.

Respect: RN treated his patient as an individual person, taking into consideration the feelings and wishes of his patient.

Excellence: RN demonstrated excellence by being prepared for a crisis, displaying patience, and taking action when needed. If Larry had not been here that day, I don't know if the outcome would have been the same.
