The time and friendship that Alyssa shared was 'medicine' for us all last night.
After a near-fall and subsequent inability to transfer, my mom was transported by rescue to Baptist Beaches. Her BP was a little high and she was nervous, understandably. While it was not alarmingly high it was in the 140's systolic over 85-90's diastolic consistently. At around 6p, Alyssa popped in to visit. She smiled and the room lit up. We got to talking and learned she had recently passed her boards and we were so excited for her new path at Baptist. We talked about how close in age she is to my children and their adventures in getting an apartment and she laughed and visited like a loved friend. The automatic BP machine did its thing - and guess what 125/72. The time and friendship that Alyssa shared was 'medicine' for us all last night. She is a beautiful asset to your nursing team, and I know that her career in nursing will impact many lives. Thank you for sharing her with us yesterday.
