This is the second time my mom has been hospitalized in the USA. The first time was during COVID in 2020, and it was a nightmare for her. This time around, she went to the ER for shortness of breath as she has asthma. She had chest congestion, cough, and wheezing and had a difficult time doing activities of daily living. She was hospitalized and is still admitted there. She was very relieved when RN Satvir came to check up on her after she was admitted. She knows limited English and Satvir was able to explain everything to her very fluently in Punjabi. My mom felt right at home. He checked on her and made sure she was comfortable and answered all of her questions.

I was taken by surprise by how fluent he was in both English and Punjabi. He explained things better to my mom than me. The whole team that worked with Satvir on the 4th floor was very caring and compassionate. My mom felt bad when she couldn't go to the bathroom, but the nurses were always very polite and caring, telling my mom that they were there to help her. They not only took care of her dietary needs but also cleaned her to my mom's satisfaction and took care of her medical needs. My mom was also very happy with how clean her room was and the overall cleanliness of the hospital.

My mom is very thankful for the meal crew, the cleaning crew, and the nursing and support staff. They all made her feel at home, even at the most difficult time for her. My mom could not stop talking about Satvir and how skilled and caring he was. The bonus was that he could speak two languages and my mom didn't feel like a stranger. Everyone seems like family to her. My mom is very grateful for the care she is receiving on the 4th floor of Methodist Hospital Sacramento. I am also very appreciative of the staff diversity at this hospital. Everyone we met truly cared and showed nothing but kindness and compassion.
