She represents and *excels* in everything Augusta stands for. She truly cared so deeply for me and her patients and co-workers that she will continue to inspire me in my Nursing journey at school.
I am a Nursing Student, and I was paired with her for the day. It brings me to absolute tears the care and compassion she had for not only patients and co-workers but myself. As a Student Nurse, I often feel like somewhat of a burden to some nurses, like an extra chore. That may be true, but Mrs. Sweet was the exact opposite. She went above AND beyond for my education and experience. She ensured I was never lost, had breaks, and consistently asked how I was doing, if I needed anything, she offered me a chair in the OR, and she went above and beyond for my education to explain medications, their effects, when to use it, the order in which things are done, allowing me to stand closer to watch the surgeries, making sure I felt included, offered me a seat to sit with her during lunch when I did get lost, she was looking for me every minute she had, she was always so kind to me, caring, and inclusive! It was one thing to provide education, it was another to make me feel welcomed, and included, and ensure I had such an amazing experience. I could truly go on. She represents and *excels* in everything Augusta stands for. She truly cared so deeply for me and her patients and co-workers that she will continue to inspire me in my Nursing journey at school. She is a true role model of how I aspire to be. Incredibly kind, compassionate, amazing listener to patients, having jokes in times when patients needed a laugh before surgery, etc. It really brings me to tears how amazing my experience was with Mrs. Sweet. This was hands down the best experience I have ever had as a Student Nurse, and I feel she has impacted me so positively for my future career. I aspire to be everything she is, and hopefully, one day I can achieve that. I can only imagine that being in the OR as a floor, it may be more difficult to achieve these awards r/t most of the time patients are sedated for their care. BUT - I highly highly highly recommend Mrs. Sweet for this award. She has changed my life and impacted me so positively that I will continue to strive to hopefully one day be as kind, compassionate, and caring as Mrs. Sweet. Thank you to Mrs. Sweet for such an amazing experience and a wonderful day. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am to have been paired with such an amazing Nurse. Thank you for your life-changing impact on me and my future.
