She held my hand and told me I was doing great.
Mary Anne was a diligent, caring, highly empathetic nurse who made me feel cared for, and that all my concerns were being taken into account.
I was getting a CCTA and I was really scared as I had gone into anaphylaxis with a contrast-based solution in the past (a different one than the one for this study but nonetheless I had not dared do contrast imaging of my body after that episode).
She was with me during the examination and when she could she held my hand and told me I was doing great. She also gave me a back rub when my skin was itching from the Colorado dry weather after also being hospitalized for a few days.
All throughout the day in every interaction she listened to me, was checking up on me when I thought I had an allergy, and made me feel l like I was the only patient even though I knew there were others and even more complex cases that she was taking care of.
All the staff at St Joseph’s has been amazing. But on a particularly rough day, Mary Anne made me feel at home and safe.
